  • [update] flash and stats

It seems like it’s going to be tomorrow before the stats server is reinstalled unfortunately, but I’ll ensure that it is online as soon as possible.

Apologies for the prolonged outage on the flash player and shoutcast stats, but it is out of my control at the moment until the server has been reinstalled. Please remember that these kinds of things do happen sometimes and the only services affected are the free extras that come with Shoutcast – no stream servers have been affected.

AGAIN: PLEASE DO NOT OPEN ANY SUPPORT TICKETS REGARDING THIS ISSUE.You will simply be redirected to this page.

PS. anything hosted on shoutcast.mixstream.net is affected.

  • [update] Flash / stats server

I’ve just had contact from the datacentre and it seems like the hard disk clone failed. We are trying to get everything back up, but a fresh install may be required which will take a little longer.

We are getting a lot of support tickets regarding this issue, we will keep updating this page so please don’t open tickets for this.

  • [update] Flash player and stats

You may notice more downtime on the flash player and stats, the server is currently being worked on. Once the faulty hard drive is cloned and back up, we expect no more problems.

The server we use for gathering some parts of the stats and other services has been experiencing problems due to hard drive errors. We are in the process of taking backups and then cloning the drive to get the server back online.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused. This does not affect any stream servers.

  • Just a few updates for anyone interested

Hi,

Some of you may notice some small changes in the Flash player. It should now be much more stable and if a stream is offline then it will attempt to reconnect in a much better way making it more reliable. It’s mainly changes in the code to make it more efficient, but there are some minor changes to the interface.

Coming Soon: The ability to create a flash player for non-MixStream servers so everyone will be able to get a nice shiny player with level meters (which I don’t think any other flash players have).

Also, the station pages for FreeStreamHosting users have changed. My aim is to offer different templates, but for now there’s just the one option – you can see the new design active immediately, it just looks a bit better for people and you can now disable the chat box completely.

FSH users will also notice the change of player – we are now using our very own flash player.

Stuff  we’re working on:

Shoutcast logfile analysis (MixStream customers only)
The ability to create reports based on log files. This will save having to manually go through log files for licensing reports.

AutoDJ
AutoDJ will be brought in to the new MixStream panel (currently using our addon for Cast Control)

More stream server options
The ability to change from Shoutcast1 to Shoutcast2, Icecast and possibly other options.

Thanks for reading!

New servers added to free network. S10, s11, s12

  • UK2-VN and UK3-VN issues

Due to issues with the network providers that we use for the above servers, resulting in a sudden reduction of the port speed on UK3-VN, we have had to source a new provider and the IPs for the server will be changed as follows:

UK2-VN New IP: 83.170.76.46
Date of change: 30th September 2010
Old IP available until: 13th October 2010

UK3-VN New IP:  83.170.76.56
Date of change: 29th September 2010
Old IP available until: 12th October 2010

If you use the host in your stream settings (i.e uk2-vn.mixstream.net or uk2-vn.mixstream.net) then you don’t need to make any changes, everything will change over automatically although you may need to reconnect at some point on the change date.

You are welcome to use both the new IPs and old IPs until they expire.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the change and hope that the 2 weeks notice is adequate. Once everything is changed across, you should notice that the new network is of a higher standard.

If you have any questions at all then please don’t hesitate to ask.
